Don't forget Dr Octorex isn't a sampler it's a Rex loop player for use via a keyboard so the theorectical max limit on that is around 116 notes anyway unless you had a 2,000 note keyboard I can't see how that is a limitation. 128 - 12 (an octave reserved for slot switching would make sense.) i.e 116 as that's the limit for midi notes. I think the limitation is in Dr Octorex too although I'm baffled as to why the figure is 99. And I assume they were functional Rex files in other contexts/software - it's just Dr. I think I've encountered Rex files that had too many slices for Dr.Rex, but were otherwise good normal Rex files that had to be created with Recycle. It allows the save of said sliced files as rex and it will load them in other daws and they can use them slices so no I'm not getting you other than reason itself cannot use them. That's a limit of the REX file format, right? In Reason you can create and separate as many slices as you want, you just can't load them into a Dr Octa Rex or Kong Nurse Rex player.Д®rrmm if that's the limit of the format why does it let you have them slices in other daws samplers?ДЄnd why does it allow you in recycle to create more than 99 ?Д«ecause it's not a limit of RECYCLE, it's a limit of the REX format? Trying to do this in rex means having to do loads of different sections and load into different slots for all the parts is very errmmm more work intensive that way.Д«ut not wat Rex or Recycle was designed for in the first place, I'm afraid. It would be nice to finely chop a whole song like this whack in a rex and quick fire the sections in a new order for live remixing etc. There has been many a time I wanted to split whole tracks and the count was insane on smaller selections 99 slices errmmm lol no where near to work. It could be a bigger issue for people who make their own Rexes in Recycle and want them to have that many slices. Yeah that is strange - but I must admit in that many years I've rarely come across a Rex file that exceeds the slice limit. any other sample player ive used can use all the slices it makes no limit on 99 like dr octo rex etc in reason its just stupid.
